As rescuers continue work at the Crandall Canyon Mine northwest of Huntington, Utah, their efforts are met with silence. The second bore hole broke into the area where the trapped miners might be but, as of yet no signals from them have been heard. The families of the 6 trapped miners continue to hope for their safe return even as the situation might be over-shadowed by immigration issues. The families had requested that no pictures be taken during the Tuesday night Mass. Three of the trapped miners are of Mexican nationalities. The identities of all 6 was confirmed on August 6. The names of the trapped miners are: Brandon Phillips, 24, Carlos Payan, in his 20s, Don Erickson, 50, Kerry Allred, 57, Luis Hernandez, 23, Manuel Sanchez, 41. Mine owner Bill Murray insist his employees are legal.
