N. Korean rocket could potentially hit half the U.S
July 1, 2009I must say this North Korean situation continues to become more ominous as the days go by. From what I can see, taking in the whole world picture the situation is such that this could be a prelude to WWIII if it is not handled correctly. All the elements seem to be in place, I just hope no one clicks the trigger!!!!

(2nd LD) N. Korean rocket could potentially hit half the U.S.: American scientists
By Sam Kim
SEOUL, July 1 (Yonhap) — The long-range rocket North Korea launched in April could be converted into a ballistic missile capable of striking half of the
continental U.S., two American physicists have concluded in a joint study.
North Korea launched on April 5 what it claims was a rocket designed to carry a satellite into orbit. The U.S. and its allies say nothing entered orbit, calling the “Unha-2″ rocket a disguised ballistic missile capable of flying over 6,700km. More…
My Attendance Slip
May 24, 2009A while back I came across an interesting blog by way of a comment that was left on my post” Where exactly is home now?” by the author of that blog, My Attendance Slip. Here is that comment:
I feel sad for your country. I am a Filipino, and I can relate to this. The Philippines was given to US by Spain after the Spanish-American war and even though we gained our independence after world war 2, we were never able to stand up again and truly release ourselves from the grip of foreign powers.
Those who live in Puerto Rico can certainly relate to this as, in a way we share a similar history. However, it is not of that post that I am writing about but of the blog My Attendance Slip itself. I started dropping in on that blog and checking out the various posts and found them to be interesting. Interesting in that it portrays the life of a working Philippino nurse in a country on the other side of the world and you get to see the similarities and differences between our cultures. Check out some of the posts regarding work and you begin to see what I mean.
The blog merit’s a visit if not several and most certainly a link in your blogroll if you are a blogger.

May 19, 2009NEWS ALERT FOR NEW YORKERS ONLY
May 18, 2009Because of a recent scare and freak out for some here in NYC when a plane flew too low for comfort and nobody knew why, I just received this advisory from my job and I wanted to share with you:
NYPD provided information regarding a military aircraft flyover that will occur on May 20, 2009 at 11:45 A.M. The flyover is part of the Fleet Week festivities and will include four military planes flying over New York City at a low altitude.
At approximately 11:45 A.M., four F-18 Hornets will pass over the Verrazano Narrows Bridge at an altitude of 2000 feet. The aircrafts will then turn and follow the Hudson River north over the assembled fleet while decreasing their altitude to 1000 feet. When the F-18s reach Pier 90, they will climb to 2500 feet and higher, exiting New York City airspace over the George Washington Bridge.
